Synopsis

A data collection agent on the remote Windows host is affected by an elevation of privilege vulnerability.

Description

The version of Microsoft Azure Monitor Agent installed on the remote host is prior to 1.41.0. It is, therefore, affected by an elevation of privilege vulnerability:

 - An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists in Azure Monitor Agent that allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. (CVE-2026-32192)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Microsoft Azure Monitor Agent version 1.41.0 or later.
