The version of Adobe Reader installed on the remote macOS host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Adobe Reader installed on the remote macOS host is a version prior to 26.001.21431. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

 - Acrobat Reader versions 26.001.21411, 24.001.30360, 24.001.30362 and earlier are affected by an Improperly Controlled Modification of Object Prototype Attributes ('Prototype Pollution') vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. (CVE-2026-34622)

 - Acrobat Reader versions 26.001.21411, 24.001.30360, 24.001.30362 and earlier are affected by an Improperly Controlled Modification of Object Prototype Attributes ('Prototype Pollution') vulnerability that could result in arbitrary file system read in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. (CVE-2026-34626)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Reader version 26.001.21431 or later.
