Synopsis

The remote host is affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability.

Description

The version of Flexera InstallShield installed on the remote host is prior to 2024 R1. It is, therefore, affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability:

- A privilege escalation vulnerability exists in standalone MSI setups built with InstallShield that have multiple InstallScript custom actions configured. A local attacker can exploit this to gain elevated privileges.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Flexera InstallShield version 2024 R1 or later.
