Synopsis

A virtualization application installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of VMware Workstation installed on the remote host is 17.x, 25H2.x prior to 25H2u1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability:

- A malicious actor with authenticated user privileges on a Windows based Workstation host may be able to cause a null pointer dereference error. (CVE-2026-22722)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to VMware Workstation version 25H2u1, or later.
