Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote macOS or Mac OS X host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Firefox installed on the remote macOS or Mac OS X host is prior to 149.0.2. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the mfsa2026-25 advisory.

 - Memory safety bugs present in Firefox ESR 115.34.0, Firefox ESR 140.9.0, Thunderbird ESR 140.9.0, Firefox 149.0.1 and Thunderbird 149.0.1. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. (CVE-2026-5731)

 - Incorrect boundary conditions, integer overflow in the Graphics: Text component. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 149.0.2 and Firefox ESR < 140.9.1. (CVE-2026-5732)

 - Incorrect boundary conditions in the Graphics: WebGPU component. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 149.0.2. (CVE-2026-5733)

 - Memory safety bugs present in Firefox ESR 140.9.0, Thunderbird ESR 140.9.0, Firefox 149.0.1 and Thunderbird 149.0.1. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. (CVE-2026-5734)

Solution

Upgrade to Mozilla Firefox version 149.0.2 or later.
