Linux Distros Unpatched Vulnerability : CVE-2026-35093

critical Nessus Plugin ID 304630

Synopsis

The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed with a vulnerability that the vendor indicates will not be patched.

Description

The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed that are impacted by a vulnerability without a vendor supplied patch available.

- A flaw was found in libinput. A local attacker who can place a specially crafted Lua bytecode file in certain system or user configuration directories can bypass security restrictions. This allows the attacker to run unauthorized code with the same permissions as the program using libinput, such as a graphical compositor. This could lead to the attacker monitoring keyboard input and sending that information to an external location. (CVE-2026-35093)

Note that Nessus relies on the presence of the package as reported by the vendor.

Solution

There is no known solution at this time.
