Synopsis

The remote EulerOS host is missing a security update.

Description

According to the versions of the util-linux packages installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

 A flaw was found in util-linux. This vulnerability allows a heap buffer overread when processing 256-byte usernames, specifically within the `setpwnam()` function, affecting SUID (Set User ID) login-utils utilities writing to the password database.(CVE-2025-14104)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS util-linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected util-linux packages.
