Synopsis

The Elastic APM Server installation on the remote host is affected by an information disclosure vulnerability.

Description

The version of Elastic APM Server installed on the remote host is 8.x prior to 8.16.1. It is, therefore, affected by an information disclosure vulnerability:

 - APM server logs could contain parts of the document body from a partially failed bulk index request. Depending on the nature of the document, this could disclose sensitive information in APM Server error logs. (CVE-2024-11994)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Elastic APM Server version 8.16.1 or later.
