Synopsis

An application running on a remote web server host is affected by a vulnerability

Description

The version of Splunk installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SVD-2026-0203 advisory.

- In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.2.0, 10.0.2, 9.4.7, 9.3.9, and 9.2.11, a user of a Splunk Search Head Cluster (SHC) deployment who holds a role with access to the Splunk _internal index could view the integrationKey, secretKey, and appSecretKey secrets, generated by Duo Two-Factor Authentication for Splunk Enterprise, in plain text.See the following for more information: Specify searchable indexes for a roleConfigure Splunk Enterprise to use Duo Security multifactor authenticationDuo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) vendor settings in the Authentication.conf configuration file reference (CVE-2026-20138)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade Splunk Enterprise to versions 10.2.0, 10.0.2, 9.4.7, 9.3.9, 9.2.11, or higher.
