Synopsis

The remote Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD-WAN ION host is affected by a denial of service vulnerability.

Description

The version of the remote Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD-WAN ION device is 5.6.x, 6.1.x prior to 6.1.10, 6.2.x, 6.3.x prior to 6.3.4, 6.4.x prior to 6.4.2, or 6.5.0. It is, therefore, affected by a denial of service vulnerability:

 - A denial-of-service (DoS) vulnerability in Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD-WAN ION devices enables an unauthenticated attacker in a network adjacent to a Prisma SD-WAN ION device to disrupt the packet processing capabilities of the device by sending a burst of crafted packets to that device. (CVE-2025-0122)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the device's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD-WAN ION version 6.1.10, 6.3.4, 6.4.2, or 6.5.1 or later.
