Synopsis

The n8n Node.js Package installed on the remote host is affected by a remote code execution vulnerability.

Description

The version of the n8n Node.js Package installed on the remote host is prior to 1.118.0, or 2.x prior to 2.4.0. It is, therefore, affected by a remote code execution vulnerability:

- A vulnerability in the Merge node's SQL Query mode allowed authenticated users with permission to create or modify workflows to write arbitrary files to the n8n server's filesystem potentially leading to remote code execution.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to n8n Node.js Package version 1.118.0 or 2.4.0 or later.
