Synopsis

The n8n Node.js Package installed on the remote host is affected by an arbitrary file write vulnerability.

Description

The version of the n8n Node.js Package installed on the remote host is prior to 1.123.12, or 2.x prior to 2.4.0. It is, therefore, affected by an arbitrary file write vulnerability:

- When workflows process uploaded files and transfer them to remote servers via the SSH node without validating their metadata, files can be written to unintended locations on those remote systems potentially leading to remote code execution on those systems. (CVE-2026-25055)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to n8n Node.js Package version 1.123.12 or 2.4.0 or later.
