Synopsis

The n8n Node.js Package installed on the remote host is affected by a command injection vulnerability.

Description

The version of the n8n Node.js Package installed on the remote host is >= 0.187.0 and prior to 1.120.3. It is, therefore, affected by a command injection vulnerability:

- A command injection vulnerability was identified in n8n's community package installation functionality. The issue allows authenticated users with administrative permissions to execute arbitrary system commands on the n8n host under specific conditions. (CVE-2026-21893)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to n8n Node.js Package version 1.120.3 or later.
