Synopsis

The remote web application server is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of IBM WebSphere Application Server running on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the 7260217 advisory.

 - IBM WebSphere Application Server could provide weaker than expected security during system administration of security settings. CWE: CWE-358: Improperly Implemented Security Check for Standard (CVE-2025-13333)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to IBM WebSphere Application Server version 8.5.5.30, 9.0.5.27 or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack levels required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PH68976.
