Synopsis

The Microsoft Excel Products are missing a security update.

Description

The Microsoft Excel Products are missing a security update. They are, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

 - An information disclosure vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this to disclose potentially sensitive information. (CVE-2026-21258, CVE-2026-21261)

 - A privilege escalation vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this to gain elevated privileges.
 (CVE-2026-21259)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Microsoft has released KB5002837 to address this issue.
