medium Nessus Plugin ID 296940

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2026-005164 advisory.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

net/sun3_82586: fix potential memory leak in sun3_82586_send_packet()

The sun3_82586_send_packet() returns NETDEV_TX_OK without freeing skb in case of skb->len being too long, add dev_kfree_skb() to fix it.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected kernel package.
