Synopsis

The remote Azure Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of zziplib installed on the remote Azure Linux 3.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2017-5974 advisory.

- Heap-based buffer overflow in the __zzip_get32 function in fetch.c in zziplib 0.13.62, 0.13.61, 0.13.60, 0.13.59, 0.13.58, 0.13.57, 0.13.56 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted ZIP file. (CVE-2017-5974)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
