Azure Linux 3.0 Security Update: SDL2 (CVE-2022-4743)

Synopsis

The remote Azure Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of SDL2 installed on the remote Azure Linux 3.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2022-4743 advisory.

 - A potential memory leak issue was discovered in SDL2 in GLES_CreateTexture() function in SDL_render_gles.c. The vulnerability allows an attacker to cause a denial of service attack. The vulnerability affects SDL2 v2.0.4 and above. SDL-1.x are not affected. (CVE-2022-4743)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
