Synopsis

The remote Azure Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of accountsservice installed on the remote Azure Linux 3.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2012-6655 advisory.

 - An issue exists AccountService 0.6.37 in the user_change_password_authorized_cb() function in user.c which could let a local users obtain encrypted passwords. (CVE-2012-6655)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
