Azure Linux 3.0 Security Update: kernel (CVE-2024-47750)

Synopsis

The remote Azure Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of kernel installed on the remote Azure Linux 3.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2024-47750 advisory.

 - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/hns: Fix Use-After-Free of rsv_qp on HIP08 Currently rsv_qp is freed before ib_unregister_device() is called on HIP08. During the time interval, users can still dereg MR and rsv_qp will be used in this process, leading to a UAF. Move the release of rsv_qp after calling ib_unregister_device() to fix it. (CVE-2024-47750)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
