Azure Linux 3.0 Security Update: kernel (CVE-2024-26930)

Synopsis

The remote Azure Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of kernel installed on the remote Azure Linux 3.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2024-26930 advisory.

 - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: qla2xxx: Fix double free of the ha->vp_map pointer Coverity scan reported potential risk of double free of the pointer ha->vp_map.
 ha->vp_map was freed in qla2x00_mem_alloc(), and again freed in function qla2x00_mem_free(ha). Assign NULL to vp_map and kfree take care of NULL. (CVE-2024-26930)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
