high Nessus Plugin ID 295413

Synopsis

The remote Azure Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

The version of mtr installed on the remote Azure Linux 3.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2025-49809 advisory.

- mtr through 0.95, in certain privileged contexts, mishandles execution of a program specified by the MTR_PACKET environment variable. NOTE: mtr on macOS May often have Sudo rules, as an indirect consequence of Homebrew not installing setuid binaries. (CVE-2025-49809)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
