Synopsis

The remote Azure Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of kernel installed on the remote Azure Linux 3.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2024-47682 advisory.

 - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: sd: Fix off-by-one error in sd_read_block_characteristics() Ff the device returns page 0xb1 with length 8 (happens with qemu v2.x, for example), sd_read_block_characteristics() May attempt an out-of-bounds memory access when accessing the zoned field at offset 8. (CVE-2024-47682)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
