Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of gnupg2 installed on the remote host is prior to 2.0.22-5. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2026-3125 advisory.

In GnuPG before 2.4.9, armor_filter in g10/armor.c has two increments of an index variable where one is intended, leading to an out-of-bounds write for crafted input. (For ExtendedLTS, 2.2.51 and later are fixed versions.) (CVE-2025-68973)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Run 'yum update gnupg2' or or 'yum update --advisory ALAS2-2026-3125' to update your system.
