Synopsis

The remote CentOS host is missing a security update for gnupg2.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the gnupg2-2.3.3-5.el9 build changelog.

 - In GnuPG before 2.4.9, armor_filter in g10/armor.c has two increments of an index variable where one is intended, leading to an out-of-bounds write for crafted input. (For ExtendedLTS, 2.2.51 and later are fixed versions.) (CVE-2025-68973)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the CentOS 9 Stream gnupg2 package.
