Synopsis

The remote MiracleLinux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote MiracleLinux 7 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the AXSA:2017-1907:03 advisory.

The Simple Protocol for Independent Computing Environments (SPICE) is a remote display system built for virtual environments which allows you to view a computing 'desktop' environment not only on the machine where it is running, but from anywhere on the Internet and from a wide variety of machine architectures.
CVE-2017-7506 spice versions though 0.13 are vulnerable to out-of-bounds memory access when processing specially crafted messages from authenticated attacker to the spice server resulting into crash and/or server memory leak.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the MiracleLinux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected spice-server package.
