Synopsis

The remote MiracleLinux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote MiracleLinux 4 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the AXSA:2013-136:01 advisory.

 The purpose of PC/SC Lite is to provide a Windows(R) SCard interface in a very small form factor for communicating to smartcards and readers. PC/SC Lite uses the same winscard API as used under Windows(R).
 This package includes the PC/SC Lite daemon, a resource manager that coordinates communications with smart card readers and smart cards that are connected to the system, as well as other command line tools.
 Security issues fixed with this release:
 CVE-2010-4531 Stack-based buffer overflow in the ATRDecodeAtr function in the Answer-to-Reset (ATR) Handler (atrhandler.c) for pcscd in PCSC-Lite 1.5.3, and possibly other 1.5.x and 1.6.x versions, allows physically proximate attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a smart card with an ATR message containing a long attribute value.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the MiracleLinux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected pcsc-lite and / or pcsc-lite-libs packages.
