Synopsis

The remote MiracleLinux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote MiracleLinux 3 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the AXBA:2008-317:03 advisory.

 - Multiple integer overflows in libext2fs in e2fsprogs before 1.40.3 allow user-assisted remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted filesystem image. (CVE-2007-5497)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected e2fsprogs, e2fsprogs-devel and / or e2fsprogs-libs packages.
