Synopsis

The remote MiracleLinux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote MiracleLinux 3 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the AXSA:2011-321:01 advisory.

 This package provides the sar and iostat commands for Linux. Sar and iostat enable system monitoring of disk, network, and other IO activity.
 Security issues fixed with this release:
 CVE-2007-3852 The init script (sysstat.in) in sysstat 5.1.2 up to 7.1.6 creates /tmp/sysstat.run insecurely, which allows local users to execute arbitrary code.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the MiracleLinux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected sysstat package.
