medium Nessus Plugin ID 291370

Synopsis

The remote MiracleLinux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote MiracleLinux 3 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the AXSA:2010-210:02 advisory.

Kerberos V5 is a trusted-third-party network authentication system, which can improve your network's security by eliminating the insecure practice of cleartext passwords.
Security issues fixed with this release:
CVE-2010-0629 Use-after-free vulnerability in kadmin/server/server_stubs.c in kadmind in MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) 1.5 through 1.6.3 allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via a request from a kadmin client that sends an invalid API version number.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the MiracleLinux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
