Synopsis

A JavaScript library installed on the remote host is affected by a local file inclusion / path traversal vulnerability.

Description

The version of jsPDF installed on the remote host is prior to 4.0.0. It is, therefore, affected by a local file inclusion / path traversal vulnerability in its Node.js builds.

 - The vulnerability exists in the Node.js environment of the library, specifically within the loadFile method and its internal file-loading helper. When user-controlled input is passed as a file path to affected methods, the library reads the specified file from the host system and embeds its raw contents verbatim into the generated PDF.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update jsPDF to version 4.0.0 or later.
