Synopsis

The remote PAN-OS host is affected by a vulnerability

Description

A vulnerability in Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS software enables an unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) to the firewall. Repeated attempts to trigger this issue results in the firewall entering into maintenance mode.

This issue is applicable only to PAN-OS NGFW configurations with an enabled GlobalProtect gateway or portal.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the PAN-OS security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to the relevant fixed PAN-OS version referenced in the vendor advisory.
