Synopsis

The remote MiracleLinux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote MiracleLinux 7 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the AXSA:2017-1702:02 advisory.

 The glibc package contains standard libraries which are used by multiple programs on the system. In order to save disk space and memory, as well as to make upgrading easier, common system code is kept in one place and shared between programs. This particular package contains the most important sets of shared libraries: the standard C library and the standard math library. Without these two libraries, a Linux system will not function.
 Security issues fixed with this release:
 CVE-2017-1000366 glibc contains a vulnerability that allows specially crafted LD_LIBRARY_PATH values to manipulate the heap/stack, causing them to alias, potentially resulting in arbitrary code execution. Please note that additional hardening changes have been made to glibc to prevent manipulation of stack and heap memory but these issues are not directly exploitable, as such they have not been given a CVE. This affects glibc 2.25 and earlier.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Update the affected packages.
