Synopsis

The remote MiracleLinux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote MiracleLinux 3 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the AXSA:2013-170:02 advisory.

 GnuTLS is a project that aims to develop a library which provides a secure layer, over a reliable transport layer. Currently the GnuTLS library implements the proposed standards by the IETF's TLS working group.
 Security issues fixed with this release:
 CVE-2013-1619 The TLS implementation in GnuTLS before 2.12.23, 3.0.x before 3.0.28, and 3.1.x before 3.1.7 does not properly consider timing side-channel attacks on a noncompliant MAC check operation during the processing of malformed CBC padding, which allows remote attackers to conduct distinguishing attacks and plaintext- recovery attacks via statistical analysis of timing data for crafted packets, a related issue to CVE-2013-0169.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected gnutls and / or gnutls-devel packages.
