Description

The remote MiracleLinux 3 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the AXSA:2014-239:01 advisory.

X.Org X11 libXfont runtime library Security issues fied with this release:
CVE-2013-6462 Stack-based buffer overflow in the bdfReadCharacters function in bitmap/bdfread.c in X.Org libXfont 1.1 through 1.4.6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via a long string in a character name in a BDF font file.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libXfont and / or libXfont-devel packages.
