Description

The remote MiracleLinux 3 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the AXSA:2009-11:01 advisory.

 SquirrelMail is a standards-based webmail package written in PHP4. It includes built-in pure PHP support for the IMAP and SMTP protocols, and all pages render in pure HTML 4.0 (with no Javascript) for maximum compatibility across browsers. It has very few requirements and is very easy to configure and install.
 SquirrelMail has all the functionality you would want from an email client, including strong MIME support, address books, and folder manipulation.
 Fixed bugs:
 CVE-2008-2379 Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in SquirrelMail before 1.4.17 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a crafted hyperlink in an HTML part of an e-mail message.
 CVE-2008-3663 Squirrelmail 1.4.15 does not set the secure flag for the session cookie in an https session, which can cause the cookie to be sent in http requests and make it easier for remote attackers to capture this cookie.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected squirrelmail package.
