Synopsis

The remote MiracleLinux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote MiracleLinux 4 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the AXSA:2012-655:03 advisory.

 Libvirt is a C toolkit to interact with the virtualization capabilities of recent versions of Linux (and other OSes). The main package includes the libvirtd server exporting the virtualization support.
 Security issues fixed with this release:
 CVE-2012-2693 libvirt, possibly before 0.9.12, does not properly assign USB devices to virtual machines when multiple devices have the same vendor and product ID, which might cause the wrong device to be associated with a guest and might allow local users to access unintended USB devices.
 Fixed bugs and enhancements:
 Fixed a locking problem in one of the routines involved in the migration process. This could cause migratiosn to become unresponsive.
 Closing a file descriptor multiple times could sometimes lead to a failure to execute the qemu-kvm binary and a guest could fail to start. This has been fixed.
 Because the keepalive checking function, to detect broken connections between the client and the server, could be buggy at times and cause a failure of service and disconnection, it has been disabled by default.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
