Unity Linux 20.1060e / 20.1070e Security Update: kernel (UTSA-2025-992493)

high Nessus Plugin ID 280607

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2025-992493 advisory.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

jbd2: remove wrong sb->s_sequence check

Journal emptiness is not determined by sb->s_sequence == 0 but rather by sb->s_start == 0 (which is set a few lines above). Furthermore 0 is a valid transaction ID so the check can spuriously trigger. Remove the invalid WARN_ON.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected kernel package.
