Unity Linux 20.1060e / 20.1070e Security Update: kernel (UTSA-2025-992411)

high Nessus Plugin ID 280567

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2025-992411 advisory.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

iommu/omap: Fix buffer overflow in debugfs

There are two issues here:

1) The len variable needs to be checked before the very first write.
Otherwise if omap2_iommu_dump_ctx() with bytes less than 32 it is a buffer overflow.
2) The snprintf() function returns the number of bytes that *would* have been copied if there were enough space. But we want to know the number of bytes which were *actually* copied so use scnprintf() instead.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected kernel package.
