New! Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR)
Tenable calculates a dynamic VPR for every vulnerability. VPR combines vulnerability information with threat intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict which vulnerabilities are most likely to be exploited in attacks. Read more about what VPR is and how it's different from CVSS.

SynopsisThe remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.
DescriptionGerardo Richarte from Core Security Technologies discovered that when gnupg is used without --status-fd, there is no way to distinguish initial unsigned messages from a following signed message. An attacker could inject an unsigned message, which could fool the user into thinking the message was entirely signed by the original sender.
Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.
SolutionUpdate the affected gnupg package.
