Unity Linux 20.1060e / 20.1070e Security Update: kernel (UTSA-2025-992656)

high Nessus Plugin ID 280220

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2025-992656 advisory.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

usb: dwc3: gadget: check that event count does not exceed event buffer length

The event count is read from register DWC3_GEVNTCOUNT.
There is a check for the count being zero, but not for exceeding the event buffer length.
Check that event count does not exceed event buffer length, avoiding an out-of-bounds access when memcpy'ing the event.
Crash log:

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
