Description

The version of Firefox installed on the remote macOS or Mac OS X host is prior to 1.5.0.4. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the mfsa2006-31 advisory.

- EvalInSandbox in Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird before 1.5.0.4 allows remote attackers to gain privileges via javascript that calls the valueOf method on objects that were created outside of the sandbox.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Mozilla Firefox version 1.5.0.4 or later.
