Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch

Description

The Dell PowerScale OneFS on the remote device is missing a security patch and is, therefore, affected by improper privilege management vulnerability.

 - Dell PowerScale OneFS versions 8.2.2.x through 9.8.0.0 contain an improper privilege management vulnerability. A local high privileged attacker could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to unauthorized gain of root-level access. (CVE-2024-37126)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the security patch in accordance with the vendor advisory.
