Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Firefox ESR installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 60.0.2. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the mfsa2018-14 advisory.

- A heap buffer overflow can occur in the Skia library when rasterizing paths using a maliciously crafted SVG file with anti-aliasing turned off. This results in a potentially exploitable crash. (CVE-2018-6126)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Mozilla Firefox ESR version 60.0.2 or later.
