Synopsis

A mail client installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Thunderbird installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 78.4.2. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the mfsa2020-49 advisory.

 - In certain circumstances, the MCallGetProperty opcode can be emitted with unmet assumptions resulting in an exploitable use-after-free condition. (CVE-2020-26950)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Mozilla Thunderbird version 78.4.2 or later.
