Synopsis

The remote SAP NetWeaver AS Java server is affected by an information disclosure vulnerability.

Description

The version of SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java installed on the remote host is affected by an information disclosure vulnerability. Due to improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory, internal metadata files could be accessed via manipulated URLs. An unauthenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability by inserting arbitrary path components in the request, allowing unauthorized access to sensitive application metadata. This results in a partial compromise of the confidentiality of the information without affecting the integrity or availability of the application server.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the appropriate patch according to the vendor advisory.
