Synopsis

The Microsoft Office product installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Microsoft Office for Mac installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the October 2025 advisory, including:

 - Use after free in Microsoft Office Excel allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally. (CVE-2025-59236)

 - Use after free in Microsoft Office Word allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally. (CVE-2025-59222)

 - Use after free in Microsoft Office allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally. (CVE-2025-59227)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to Microsoft Office for Mac 2021 or 2024 version 16.102 or later.
