Unity Linux 20.1070e Security Update: kernel (UTSA-2025-989853)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 273350

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2025-989853 advisory.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: don't read past the mfuart notifcation

In case the firmware sends a notification that claims it has more data than it has, we will read past that was allocated for the notification.
Remove the print of the buffer, we won't see it by default. If needed, we can see the content with tracing.

This was reported by KFENCE.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected kernel package.
