Unity Linux 20.1070a Security Update: kernel (UTSA-2025-990377)

high Nessus Plugin ID 272592

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2025-990377 advisory.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

igb: Fix potential invalid memory access in igb_init_module()

The pci_register_driver() can fail and when this happened, the dca_notifier needs to be unregistered, otherwise the dca_notifier can be called when igb fails to install, resulting to invalid memory access.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected kernel package.
