Unity Linux 20.1070a Security Update: kernel (UTSA-2025-989955)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 272505

Synopsis

The Unity Linux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The Unity Linux 20 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the UTSA-2025-989955 advisory.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

net: tun: unlink NAPI from device on destruction

Syzbot found a race between tun file and device destruction.
NAPIs live in struct tun_file which can get destroyed before the netdev so we have to del them explicitly. The current code is missing deleting the NAPI if the queue was detached first.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Unity Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected kernel package.
